A Letter From Our Founder
Gift giving has always been my love language.
I’ve always been deeply invested in learning the stories of the people around me—listening closely, noticing the details, and remembering what matters most to them.
I believe that genuine curiosity about others leads to deeper understanding, and that understanding is where true connection begins.
My husband and I call upstate New York our home, where we have spent nearly three decades watching the story of our family unfold. Five of the most incredible kids any parent could hope for, three sweet rescue pups, and friends who feel like family have filled our lives with joy. It’s in these threads—the laughter, the quiet moments, the milestones, and everything in between—that I’ve come to understand connection, presence, and care. These experiences shape how I see the world, and how I approach every gift we create at Alderhaus.
I created Alderhaus to help people recognize and honor the people and moments that matter most to them. At its core, Alderhaus is about intentional gifting—thoughtfully curated pieces paired with carefully chosen words, designed to feel personal and sincere. I’ve always loved details: how a gift is presented, the story behind where it came from, and the feeling it creates when it’s received. Alderhaus lives in those details, because that’s where meaning is felt.
One of the most fulfilling parts of building Alderhaus has been the opportunity to work alongside artists, makers, and vendors whose work carries purpose and history. I’m deeply passionate about supporting businesses rooted in craftsmanship and creativity, and about connecting them with people who value not only what they make, but the stories behind it. In many ways, Alderhaus is a bridge—between giver and recipient, between maker and customer, between intention and experience.
My hope is that Alderhaus makes it easier for you to express gratitude, celebrate connection, and show care in ways that feel true to you. Whether you’re honoring a milestone, recognizing a relationship, or simply letting someone know they matter, I want Alderhaus to feel like a trusted partner—one that handles your gifts, your stories, and your moments with the same care I would give my own.
With gratitude,
